Do you have a specific place where you like to write? What about it works for you?

I mostly write in our living room. When I'm at home alone, that's not such a big deal, but it's not so great when my husband's home because he can't deal with having the TV off. I used to go down in the basement to write, but during the years when our daughter was small, I stopped doing that because I needed to be upstairs with her to supervise her. Now that she's much older, I could go down there, but that would require some extensive cleaning that I haven't been able to bring myself to do.

I didn't get any fic writing done yesterday, but I did finish writing a Real Life project, which is a huge load off my mind. I'll try to work on some fic with what's left of today, if my household chores will stop staring me in the face.

I do the vast majority of writing in the spare bedroom of our apartment which is set up as our office. It's excellent for that, because the layout of the apartment means it is cut off from the living room where the TV is, so even when it's on, I can concentrate on my work. The only time someone comes in to the room is if my hubby wants me for something.

I am in the process of assembling a main character for a potentially long story. She's an OC character in a fandom world, so I've got to go about this very carefully. (Speaking from hard experience, OCs can be a swift way to decrease your readership, even if they're done well.)

I've got two "office" spaces. One's my actual desk, where my old desktop PC is, and the other is my laptop, which is usually occupying one corner of the dining room table, as it is at this moment. (The tablet goes wherever, of course.)

Wrote a little for a bingo challenge that started this month. I miiiiight be able to finish a rough draft tomorrow? I hope so.

When I'm at home, I like to write in my living room. There aren't many distractions there, and getting up to snack/use the internet/watch TV requires me to leave a comfy couch so...I tend to stay put and get work done.
