Discussion: computers. When you get a new computer or use someone else's do you spend time setting it to your requirements/prefecners or can you work without making too many changes?

I'm basically ignoring my writing as I try to get caught up on Real Life stuff that has somehow accumulated in spite of my best efforts. I better try to manage some writing soon, though, or I won't reach any of my goals for the month!

When using someone else's computer, I try not to make too many changes -- though I have set some things up according to my preferences on the computer where I work. I definitely like to spend time getting a new computer "just so". I can work without it, but it's easier to work if I have things set up my way. Having Evernote and Dropbox, and Jarte on a flash drive, helps immensely because I have access to everything I need if I am at a computer that isn't mine.
