WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 3 -- Friday

Hello on Friday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

•     I wrote
•     I did some planning and/or research
•     I edited
•     I've sent my fic off to my beta
•     I posted today!
•     I'm taking a break
•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Discussion:  How do you feel when you discover someone else has written a story/idea/plot twist that is similar to one you thought of and are particularly proud of?  How do you deal with it after you discover it -- do you press on or change your writing plan?

It's not been a productive week so far for writing, but I'm hopeful for today and the rest of the weekend! Even if I just get some idea brainstorming done I'll be content.

Discovering my awesome plot twist was also thought of by someone else has happened to me at least twice, and while it's discouraging at first, I have pressed on with my plan anyway. Even similar stories/ideas/plot twists are never exactly the same because no two authors are the same, so I just make it my own and (try) not to worry about other people's stories!

I actually wrote a fair bit after yesterday's post here, so that was a thing. I'll likely just take tonight off, though; had another double today.

As far as today's question goes, I think I'd just be happy that there's somebody else writing in the same fandom.
