Discussion: comments and kudos. With AO3 having the options of leaving comments and kudos, I was wondering which do you prefer to receive?

I don't mind either, unless I get an inconsiderate comment from someone who hates what I write and refuses to stop reading or to tell me what they didn't like about the work.

Comments are always great but Kudos make me really happy. It shows, to me, that someone read my fic and enjoyed it a lot. It's literally the easiest thing to do to say you like someone's hard work. Sadly, Just like comments, I don't think enough people click that little button. When I look at [someone else's] fic that has over a 1000 hits but like 12 Kudos and it's really well written or highly enjoyable, I just shake my head sadly in disappointment (and give them a well earned Kudos!).

But yeah, Kudos are awesome as hell and more people should give them.

I recently got both a comment and kudos on an AO3 post so I really don't mind which I get, it tells me that someone is reading my fic or appreciating my art. The only downside to AO3 comments is been unable to find them on the dashboard because that took me absolutely ages the other night and I had to ask on both DW and twitter before I found it, so DW comments are much easier to reply to in that respect.

Not a lot of writing this evening but tomorrow is my day off so there should be words on the page/screen and hopefully something posted, maybe a Summer Mini Challenge prompt because I have one fill that is almost done.

I appreciate kudos, but in-depth comments are what I live for.
