Hello! I'm
linaewen, your friendly "how are you doing at writing today" person for this, the final week in the April WIP challenge. Let's start things out with a (hopefully) encouraging quote:
1. How is your thought-nurturing and word-producing being achieved today?
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?
4. With one week left to go, how are you feeling about your writing goals for the month?
But words are things, and a small drop of ink
falling like dew upon a thought,
produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.

1. How is your thought-nurturing and word-producing being achieved today?
- I'm writing!
- I'm researching!
- I'm editing!
- I'm taking a break!
- I'm wishing I had time to write, but I'm just too busy with other things...
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?
4. With one week left to go, how are you feeling about your writing goals for the month?
- I am totally on track!
- I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I'm still feeling positive about how the month went.
- I got a lot of writing done, but not on the fics I had planned to write this month!
- Not so great -- but there's always next month!

Date: Sunday, April 24th, 2011 20:03 (UTC)2. The plans and other writing I did today reached about 2000 words in total. Now, how to get the same counts for fics? ;)
3. 9 - I didn't get actual writing done today, but I clarified a lot of things for myself today and my motivation to do stuff was revitalized, and that's great.
4. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I'm still feeling positive about how the month went. I will even be posting fic next week, once it goes through a rewrite or two, and it will be my first one for the year. I also have ideas for other ones and will be making use of them. Yay!

Date: Sunday, April 24th, 2011 20:29 (UTC)&... I'm going to post this fic tomorrow, which is awesome. But I wanted to finish another fic this month & I don't think I'll get to that point. I feel all right, though, because this now-finished fic was tricky but v. enjoyable. & I wrote a lot of other stuff this month that isn't finished yet but that I definitely want to take forward!
A successful day of writing can mean a lot of things to me: a high word count; writing myself to that moment where the story clicks & I know I'm on the right path; getting through a lot of editing.

Date: Sunday, April 24th, 2011 21:37 (UTC)I'm writing!
2. Do you have a word count for the day or a snippet of a thought or a conversation you want to share?
About 2-3K so far today, hope to at least double that doing some writing sprints with a friend. ;)
Snippet:
“I don’t know how you found me,” she snarls and then blinks, smirking superiorly, remembering that she has an upper hand on Jensen--that she’s already won.
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?
7 so far. Decent considering I've had to go to a relative's house for dinner and then we had more family here for a couple of hours. So, 2-3K today is awesome right now but I won't feel like a 10 until I crank out some more words. :D
4. With one week left to go, how are you feeling about your writing goals for the month?
Almost on track, though I live in fear of a surprise!chapter that will make me miss the deadline. :/
5. The "answer if you feel like it" question: How do you define a successful day of writing?
About 4K for the day in a multi-chapter fic and/or at least 2-3 scenes completed. At least, before I got so close to the deadline. Right now I don't consider any day a successful day... not until I finish this stupid thing. XD

Date: Sunday, April 24th, 2011 23:08 (UTC)1. I'm Writing and I'm planning
2. 1,800 so far and I'm going to try for another 3,000 tonight.
3. 4: Why did this story decide to go this direction. It was supposed to be fluff. FLUFF I TELL YOU!!!
4. Not so great --but there's always next month!
5. Making time to write and writing. Preferably over 4,000 words.

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 02:30 (UTC)2: ...well, I've had three different conversations today about stories that people want me to write, and have jotted down the relevant notes on each one in a story file so I can find it. That's progress, yeah?
3: I am not doing anything else with numbers tonight. ;-)
4: Seeing that I set no writing goals this month - awesome! I believe it was this month that I posted that ridiculous amount of fic, was it not? Hopefully next month will be as good!
5: A successful day of writing is one which ends with ideas for tomorrow. An unsuccessful day of writing is one which ends with me blocked or written into a corner.

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 02:59 (UTC)And taking notes about ideas is the firm foundation of all fanfic writing, so it is most definitely progress. ;-)

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 03:54 (UTC)1. I mostly did research today, as well as a bit of editing. I also had a discussion with someone about an idea in one of my fics to help me decide it was feasible. We agreed that it was, so that's a resounding yay! I can move forward with that one now.
2. No word count, as I didn't actually get around to writing today.
3. Today I'm feeling like an 8 -- I'm pretty positive about how things are going and I'm quite excited about all the fics I'm working on, after a pretty lengthy dry spell. But I'm still spinning my wheels a bit in some ways, and I'm hoping I haven't bit off more than I can chew!
4. I'm on track, I do believe!
5. "Successful" varies from day to day. Some days it's enough to be thinking about my stories even if I couldn't get anything down on paper. I'm pretty easy to please, so if I have managed to make some notes, or add to my outline, or get a feel for the progression of the story through research, that's success for me. Major success is when I actually get more than 1,000 words written! :-D

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 05:48 (UTC)1. How is your thought-nurturing and word-producing being achieved today?
I posted my remix yesterday, then today I had a major panic about the rules - thought my fic was disqualified because I hadn't checked the right box. It seems its alright though and not only that but we can still edit the submitted fics as they are on AO3. I didn't go look for typos though. I took a break from it.
2. Do you have a word count for the day or a snippet of a thought or a conversation you want to share?
I wrote a 100w plan for a potential secend entry for Blind_Go. I want to make sure the idea works before investing too much time. Deadline is May 4th
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?
5/10 (generally good) I got a lot of RL work out tof the way. Knowing I can still get at my remix makes me want to tinker with it still - not sure thats good. Have 1st Blind_Go fic in rough form ony. Don't know (still if the other idea is workable.
4. With one week left to go, how are you feeling about your writing goals for the month?
* I am totally on track!
But then my goals were vague just do the 2 challenges (remix and Blind Go) the limit is 1000w min each
5. The "answer if you feel like it" question: How do you define a successful day of writing?
Ive no idea!! But its a good question

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 07:32 (UTC)2. I did 1100, buy my goal for today is 2500
Snippet:
Steve felt rather than heard Stark walking toward him. Everyone had different steps and you only need to be careful to distinguish everyone's pattern. He liked to use it to surprise Jan. And when did he memorise Stark's?
He didn't know, and he didn't want to know.
"A drink?" Stark went to him and asked.
"No," he said. "Not in the mood."
Steve half expected Stark to insist, but Stark didn't say anything more. He just sat by him, quietly watching the TV with him. He put a hand on Steve's hand. Steve didn't withdraw.
3. 5. Because I finish a bingo fic, but I still don't work as much as I like.
4. Too early to tell.
5. Reaching my writing goal.
