Do you have a favorite character to write? What about that character appeals to you?

Went to visit the folks today. Looking to write again in the morning.

Favorite character? I usually have a couple of favorites in each fandom I visit (e.g. Sain and Serra in Fire Emblem), and there are several upon whom I am still deciding.

My favorite character is Boromir in Lord of the Rings. He actually dies in canon (in Book 1 of the trilogy, no less), but I like writing gap-fillers that feature his character as well as a canon-based AU that deals with how things might or might not have changed if he had survived to continue in the story. I like him as a character because he is valiant and loyal and a good leader, but he also has his flaws and has made some big mistakes. It is interesting to write about how he is dealing with the ramifications of his mistakes.
