Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

I'm thinking about my writing, and hoping it turns into something more productive. Yesterday I was too tired from my big Saturday event to even think straight -- today is better, so we shall see.

I recall attempting to write Bonanza and Star Trek-related fics when I was young, but they didn't amount to anything. My real writing began with Lord of the Rings -- I've been a fan of the books (and other Tolkien works) for at least 45 years, but my muse was awakened after seeing the books put to film. One of the reasons I wanted to write was to pursue the question of what would happen to the tale as a whole if certain characters lived instead of died. That is still my goal, but I just like writing anything within the fandom now!

I still have in mind one day to try my hand again at writing Star Trek (specifically DS9, I think). The only other non-LotR fandom I have written in is Major (baseball anime/manga).

I have been rereading some of my fic bits and pondering over them. And discovering that I misspelled some names.

As I recall I actually came to fanfic through online role-playing... it was quite a while ago and I've forgotten a lot.

I wrote. Today's theme for fic_promptly was "1,000 Words" (or more), so ... I busted out 1,000 words. Getting there! Just a bit longer, and July will end on a positive note.

EDIT — Officially, my fandom journey begins at Sailor Moon on June 18, 1999, but I'd done 'fic well before then without it really being called 'fic. As for why I got into SM, it just ... felt like there were stories that needed to be told, really.
