Date: Monday, July 27th, 2015 14:08 (UTC)I recall attempting to write Bonanza and Star Trek-related fics when I was young, but they didn't amount to anything. My real writing began with Lord of the Rings -- I've been a fan of the books (and other Tolkien works) for at least 45 years, but my muse was awakened after seeing the books put to film. One of the reasons I wanted to write was to pursue the question of what would happen to the tale as a whole if certain characters lived instead of died. That is still my goal, but I just like writing anything within the fandom now!
I still have in mind one day to try my hand again at writing Star Trek (specifically DS9, I think). The only other non-LotR fandom I have written in is Major (baseball anime/manga).

Date: Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 00:41 (UTC)EDIT — Officially, my fandom journey begins at Sailor Moon on June 18, 1999, but I'd done 'fic well before then without it really being called 'fic. As for why I got into SM, it just ... felt like there were stories that needed to be told, really.
