Discussion: interruptions. When you have interruptions do you try to pick up from the point that you stopped or do you read through it all before you start again.

Yesterday was very much an interruption day because I'd finished work early then got called by out of hours to go back out and do a few night visits with my regular clients so the time I'd set aside to write didn't happen.

Today I finished work early and tomorrow is my day off and since I've been home I've gotten some work done and also picked up an outline around the point where I left it yesterday. I ticked off posted because I want to have something new up.

If I get interrupted during writing, I usually start over because I don't like losing momentum on a project.

I spent a lot of time researching and planning the last few days. I finally have a good idea of where I'm going with a WIP that's been rather neglected, so I needed to review my notes before taking it up again. That said, after any kind of an interruption -- short or long -- I usually reread what I have done before starting up again. If it's a long WIP, I don't start from the beginning, but I will read the last couple of chapters to be sure I pick up the thread of my work again properly.

Depends what sort of interruption and where I am in the thing. A few hundred words and had to run to the store? Probably going to re-read. Chapter ten of multi-part and took a quick phone call? Keep going. Editing comes later!
