Date: Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 08:00 (UTC)No writing at all yesterday because work was crazy and I'm ill so resting was my priority when I got home. I've written a little this morning and a couple of one shots look like they're ready for posting as soon as they've had a final edit that is.

Date: Thursday, September 17th, 2015 15:23 (UTC)I love doing research. I have worked as a reference librarian in the past, and it was the most fun job I ever had! I am content just researching all day long, and the internet makes it even easier than it used to be when I had to lug all my fandom reference books around when I needed to look something up (my main fandom being Lord of the Rings, there is a ton of reference material out there!). I usually start with a lot of research as I set up my outline, so I have background material for setting and customs; this helps me firm up my original idea to see if it will actually work, and also gives me plot ideas. As I write, I generally have to add to my research as new points come to mind. If nothing else, I have to run my word choices through Online Etymology Dictionary to be sure my vocabulary is suitable to the era I am writing.
