Hello on Thursday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Discussion - What is the strangest (or most interesting or fun) thing you've had to research for a fic?

I'm dealing with life today, but I'm hoping to get some writing time in later on this evening.

Research is pretty much my favorite part of writing, and I can spend hours chasing after the most obscure things in an effort to check a plot point. The internet is great for that! Not all my research is online, however. My most interesting and fun research took place when I needed to know how fast something floating on water with a current would take from Point A to Point B, so I did experiments with twigs in a stream and a stop watch when I was out for a walk one day. It was informative and fun, and helped my story along nicely!

Last night or early this morning, I did some more writing and read some of my earlier journal posts about writing fanfic - this gave me a boost of inspiration, so I couldn't wait to get some writing done today.
