Date: Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 21:45 (UTC)With prompts it varies. I have a lot of unused/lingering prompts from a multitude of challenges at my comm and some of them are left over from my LJ days and at some point I will need to decided what to do with those. These days I tend to look at the notes of fics I read because some people include links to the source and I now have this bookmarked whether I use anything remains to be seen.

Date: Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 23:55 (UTC)There are two LJ communities I look to for my prompts -- I don't really need to go looking because I know there will be something good coming up. One community hosts a monthly challenge which I usually participate in; the other is once a year, but I sign up for so many prompts they last me for months and months afterwards!

Date: Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 02:00 (UTC)I get prompts from several different communities here on DW, and I am never out of stock despite being in a bunch of very small fandoms.

Date: Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 07:51 (UTC)I rarely go actively looking for prompts outside of the exchanges/the bingo I take part in. I don't write because I want to write, I usually write because there's a fic I want to see that no-one else has written (hello, tiny fandoms!). I'm very happy to not write when there are no plot bunnies.
