How is the writing going today? What about yesterday?
Discussion: crossovers. Do you write crossovers? Do you like them? Do you dislike them?

Date: Thursday, December 17th, 2015 02:38 (UTC)I rather enjoy reading crossovers if I am familiar with the fandoms involved, but I haven't ever tried my hand at writing one myself.

Date: Thursday, December 17th, 2015 17:29 (UTC)I like crossovers if the different groups of characters are somehow at odds -- different world views, opposing goals etc. It's a great opportunity for outsider POV if the charaters are meeting for the first time or see each others place for the first time.
I don't like crossovers where they're related or instant good friends or whatever.
I've written one crossover so far, and it was lots of fun. I love writing descriptions, but with my regular close-third-POV fics that mostly take place in a setting where everyone knows their surroundings and the other charcters extremely well, there's not a lot of description you can reasonably fit into a fic.
