Discussion: crossovers. Do you write crossovers? Do you like them? Do you dislike them?

*I'm rapidly running out of topics to discuss, so if you have any suggestions let me know. Next week is still free for hosting too.

Home sick today -- which means lots of time to sit quietly and write but I wasn't up to it! I have been thinking about my fic a bit, but not making any moves to work on it.

I rather enjoy reading crossovers if I am familiar with the fandoms involved, but I haven't ever tried my hand at writing one myself.

I didn't write anything yesterday, but that was planned because I wasn't home.

I like crossovers if the different groups of characters are somehow at odds -- different world views, opposing goals etc. It's a great opportunity for outsider POV if the charaters are meeting for the first time or see each others place for the first time.

I don't like crossovers where they're related or instant good friends or whatever.

I've written one crossover so far, and it was lots of fun. I love writing descriptions, but with my regular close-third-POV fics that mostly take place in a setting where everyone knows their surroundings and the other charcters extremely well, there's not a lot of description you can reasonably fit into a fic.

I am disinterested in crossovers most of the time. I don't really have a lot of fandoms so I doubt that the writer would be matching up two fandoms I like.

I'm doing a little editing. Mostly I'm on the hunt for the word THAT. I use this word too often.
