WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 25 -- Monday

Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Discussion - Do you write to a daily word count?  Why or why not?

I didn't get anything accomplished on the challenge fic I wanted to submit this weekend, so I think I'm just going to give up on it and move on. Time to work on something fresh!

In the past I have not ever bothered with aiming for a daily word count, or even tried to write everyday, but I'm changing that to see if it helps me be more productive. I am trying the discipline of writing a minimum of words every day, but I am allowing flexibility with that, too -- some days are just impossible, while other days I could easily write but just waste my time and don't accomplish anything. The idea that I ought to be keeping up a daily word count is helping me to some extent to procrastinate less.

I think a monthly word count is more effective for me. It lends flexibility.
