Hello on Tuesday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
  •     I thought about my fic once or twice
  •     I wrote
  •     I did some planning and/or research
  •     I edited
  •     I've sent my fic off to my beta
  •     I posted today!
  •     I'm taking a break
  •     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Another day of no writing. Early bedtime and lots of rest. -_-

As for the question: Rarely, if ever. Real people tend to be very contradictory and inscrutable, in my experience, which means they can come across as 'poorly written' if they are translated into text.

Characters based on real people?

I'm like linawen. I base some characteristics on people, especially the actors/actresses that play them. Robert Lansing was a magician, for example, and both EQ and KF:TLC have given nods to that in canon. I haven't used that fact much in my writing, but it's sneaking in.

There are some things that I've snitched from other writers that fit the character that may or may not be personal to the actor, etc., but definitely fit. Which reminds me that I've been meaning to ask one of my friend where she got Control's love of the Civil War and history. Makes very good sense for him to have that, but I don't recall it being canon. Thanks :).
