Greetings! [personal profile] linaewen here to serve as your writing encouragement person for this week.

What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
  •     I thought about my fic once or twice
  •     I wrote
  •     I did some planning and/or research
  •     I edited
  •     I've sent my fic off to my beta
  •     I posted today!
  •     I'm taking a break
  •     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
Discussion - How did you do last week in meeting your writing goals?  Do you expect the coming week to be conducive to writing?

I posted a short bit yesterday, but the month of February is starting to look like kind of a wash for me, I'm afraid.

I've thought about it, but this month is looking bad. Two friends died suddenly of cancer within a week of each other, and whenever I think about working on this current story, all I can think about is how much it sucks compared to the two I just did that I'm happier with than anything I've written in years (and which are getting nowhere near as much attention as the damn Jessica Jones I dashed off for fun). At least I have a good handful of others I can work on instead.

Thanks. It could have emotionally been a lot rougher, and I know it's only prologue, but I'm channeling my reactions into positive thought and action. It was made more ironic since less than two months ago, I'd finally gotten off my arse and posted a TSCC fic about someone dying of cancer, but that's life.

I have had an amazing 20 day run of writing a 22k story, which I sent off to beta yesterday. So February and last week turned out to be brilliant, writing-wise. Not in one of my usual fandoms, but you gotta go with the flow sometimes.

This week's progress was slow, due to a bit of stress at work and problems with wrapping this chapter up. But I finished this chapter at last. (I also drew a little, so that's at least some creative output.)

Next week will hopefully get better as I can do some editing and some planning, which will be a nice change from writing. I think this chapter might have been the hardest, so I'm cautiously optimistic about what's to come.
