WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 7 -- Monday

Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

•     I did some planning and/or research
•     I edited
•     I've sent my fic off to my beta
•     I posted today!
•     I'm taking a break
•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Discussion - Do you ever go back and reuse something you've written previously to make a new thing out of it?

No writing as yet today, but I am hopeful for some writing time later in the day.

I have done this a couple of times -- rewritten something done previously to make a new thing out of it. One was a rewrite of an old thing that was okay but didn't really work in the original format -- it was much better the second time around. Others have been where I take parts of older fics and put them together to make something new, sometimes with a different outcome than the original had. I mostly only did this with old fics that I wrote early on and which were not posted in some of the more public archive I use now, so for the most part, they were like new stories, because no one currently reading my fic had seen the original!
