WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 9 -- Wednesday

Hello on Wednesday!  I missed yesterday due to it being Tuesday (my busiest day which started earlier than usual!).  So anyway, what kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

No writing yesterday, due it being Tuesday. I'm hopeful for today, but a writing project for work has to be done first (or at least worked on for a full hour) before I move on to other (more pleasant) things.

When I first started writing, I was very fond of long, multi-chaptered stories. I still do them, because I like the ability to really develop a lot of characters over a longer time period and get more into description and setting, etc. However, short fic is what is keeping me going these days, because it is just that -- short. I can't say I actually prefer one over the other, but I have been doing better at writing the shorter stuff recently, while the longer stuff gets pushed to the side.

Another day of dealing with life, but I think I have a good chance of writing in the morning.

I have come to prefer short stories because long stories ... tend to get ignored, in my experience. -_- No matter how proud I am of my worldbuilding, extended characterization, crossoverology (where applicable), it just doesn't generate enough feedback to justify the effort involved, IMO.
