WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 31 -- Thursday

Hello on Thursday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

•     I'm taking a break
•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Discussion:  Is it helpful for you to declare a writing goal for the month?  Does it help keep you more on track than if you didn't declare a goal?

Life is really hectic lately, and will be for a couple of weeks at least. I need to get some writing in today so I can post a decent word count for March -- not sure it will happen! Here's hoping....

I do find it helpful to declare a goal, and it keeps me on track. I don't always meet the goal, but I'm more likely to make progress if I set a goal and make it public than I am if I don't have any goal to aim for.

Wrote a bit and outlined yesterday. I've set aside some writing time for today, hopefully I can iron out my timeline and scenes between point A and B.

I thought it was helpful early on in the month to have a writing goal, but I set it too high considering the amount of RL responsibilities demanding my attention. As I fell behind, the goal became almost intimidating to think about... April will have a more managable objective.

I wrote. Mostly drabbling, but it'll still end March on a higher note than I expected.

For me, having a monthly goal does help (see: inkingitout), but it also shows me that I have a lot of room for improvement. That's why we're all here, right?
