What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Date: Sunday, April 17th, 2016 11:50 (UTC)I don't think I've ever forgotten about a story, but if I did find one, I would try to resurrect it, even if I couldn't remember where I was going with it in the first place. I do have dormant WIPs, though, but I know what I'm doing with them; they are dormant because I'm too busy or stuck on a plot point, not because I've lost the thread of the plot.

Date: Sunday, April 17th, 2016 22:50 (UTC)I save every fic that I start, even if all I type up is a single sentence. So I definitely forget things, then find them later and wonder what on earth I had planned. Often I do remember, but sometimes I'm mystified forever.
I have one multi-chaptered wip right now that I haven't worked on for about a year and I'm no longer sure what I had planned to do next, which is a shame because it was a fic for a rare-ish ship and I would have liked to finish it. I may end up scrapping it instead if I can't figure out where to go with it. Such is life.

Date: Sunday, April 17th, 2016 23:10 (UTC)I'm pretty good about keeping track of what all I've written, and my directory structures, both here on DW and in my PC folders, are done up in such a way that I'm not likely to lose anything, but there have been a couple of "lost" stories I've found again over the years. Don't know what I'll do with them, but I've still got them. Writing should never be lost or wasted, IMO.
