WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 25 -- Monday

Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Wish I could have gotten going with some writing over the weekend, but I didn't, so it will have to happen this week. Today is not too heavy for work projects, so hopefully I can put some words down on paper today that will move me forward.

I check the comm daily, even though I don't always reply with a comment to a check in post. It keeps me encouraged and thinking about writing to make this comm part of my routine!

I check my dw circle daily, so I always see your posts. I often want to join in but I feel weird because I'm not writing fanfic anymore, I just need motivation to write blog posts. I should just pick one or the other - either I'm here and I write blog posts and use the comm for that, if allowed; or I leave! What would be best for mods/other members? Would it feel weird to see someone talking about how she doesn't know what to write to go alongside her travel pics?

My opinion is that blog posts count as writing, so if you feel the comm would benefit you as you struggle to write posts, then I would support you using it that way. I wouldn't feel weird seeing a post about blooging. Anyway, a blog could be considered a Work in Progress, right? ;-) I know most of the folk who use the comm are writing fanfic (or possibly original fic), but to me, writing is writing. Feel free to stay on board and chime in when it would be helpful!

That's great to hear! Watch out for me posting every other day now. I have loads to do. :)

(And hey, let's be real - one of the reasons I'm writing blog posts (for lixhewett.com, I mean; I don't need this much help with DW/LJ posts) is to get my biz off the ground, and one of the reasons I want to get my biz off the ground is so I can take time off and write a novel. So my priorities overlap with everybody else's, I feel.)

I wrote today. Off to a good start on the fic_promptly Contest Week. Wrote yesterday, too. Little bits here and there, though I've really been doing more reading than writing, lately. I even plunged into the newly-opened Smut Swap 2016 collection on AO3. Many kudos were left. :-)

I check the comm every day, since I check DW every day (unless I'm sick, which does occasionally happen). And I try to comment at every opportunity, though I don't always have much to say.
