Acquired the raw materials for more fanfic (i.e. I bought video games on the cheap). Done with my course of medication, so I should be feeling more or less up to par again. That will help with the writing.

I have now managed to think about a story 2 days in a row! But I'm still stuck on the same section I was when I abandoned it :(

So, a question for any Harry Potter 'verse fans - if I were to mention 'Gryffindor's terrible trio', but have the story set between Marauders era and Harry Potter arriving at Hogwarts, is that going to throw you out of the story?

If the characters of this trio have been established, or mentioned before, it'll be fine. If it's only a throw-away comment, it wouldn't necessarily throw me out of the story. I'm more likely to assume Gryffindor more or less always has a group of students who stand out and give professors/other students trouble.

Though if you don't establish those characters you could always make it a terrible duo, or any size of group, really.

Thank you for this comment - it is helpful. Sadly, I stopped working on the fic, because I ran out of time, but maybe one day I'll come back to it.

And I like the idea that Gryffindor always has a terrible trio (or several), and that maybe the teachers start laying bets about it at the beginning of first year.
