Discussion: new(er) fandoms. Do you start writing straight away for a new fandom? Do you wait until you feel you know the characters?

No writing yesterday and not a lot today, got hit by a nasty bug so I've been sleeping a lot.

With new fandoms it all depends on how much it grabs me more than anything, sometimes I can just jump in and write after one or two watches and other times I have to wait until I feel like I can actually pull something off.
