Check-in post, day 14

We're almost halfway through this month now. How are things going so far? Making any significant progress? Any significant panicking? Any deadlines suddenly creeping in on you, not that it happened to me or anything?

Today's discussion theme is Titles Hard part or hardest part of the story? Where do you get them? And does anyone else ever start with the title, or is it just me?

Ah yeah, I can imagine that. There are so many fics published in December...

It's impressive that this challenge is still going strong after all that time. Maybe because it's a once-a-year thing? So people can go about their other fandoms in the meantime.

I guess it's like that for some of the people who've been in dS for years and aren't posting fics for that fandom. They might see it as a homecoming of sorts, maybe?

And then for those of us *are* actively writing in the fandom, it's like an extra cherry on top. In many ways, dSSS is a huge deal and absolutely groovy since the stories and art tend to cover a lot of different pairings and what not. Some of my favourite dS fics come from dSSS.

You made me a bit jealous, because FFVII is an old fandom now, too, but there aren't 'meetings' organized yearly for us T.T (at least, not that I know of).

It always makes me feel so good when I see people still working in my favorite fandoms *.*

(just spent a moment looking at your icons, and it made me laugh and smile, remembering all those great Due South scenes. I'm still smiling ^_^)

*g* Yeah, the fandom itself has slowed down some over the past three years (in comparison to its 2000- 2007 heyday), but people are still churning fics out.

OTOH, I feel that even though F/K is (arguably) the most popular pairing, there's a LOT of fics writing all kinds of pairings too. As someone who is part of the "third wave" of dS writers (meaning circa 2008 to the present), I'm very happy to see that.

No kidding. Fandom rarely dies, when you really look at it. There's always one crazy dude who publish a fic from time to time :D

and Fraser/RayK is shiny *.* ;p (also, Fraser/RayK/RayV xD )

reminds me of that movie, Cowboys and Aliens that due soon (or already for you?). I wasn't looking at the screen when the preview began but suddenly I heard a voice and I was all I KNOW THAT VOICE. of course, afterward it was I MUST SEE THAT MOVIE (even if the storyline made me laugh a bit so far ^^;;; ) )
