Day 16. Now we're definitely past the halfway point of the month.

— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Planning and / or researching.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.

When it comes to a long and difficult writing project, how do you know when it's time to scrap the darn thing and start over?

I'm thinking a little, trying to make time in my day amidst everything going on to have some quiet writing time. I have a deadline coming up this weekend and I haven't really done much yet to meet it!

My really long projects that are stalled are the ones I'm reluctant to scrap -- they are difficult, but I know they are still viable. I did scrap one project that was fairly lightweight, but I just couldn't get any of my ideas to work. That's usually the key, whether the ideas give me anything to work with; if not, I quit with that story and move on.
