WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 2 -- Friday

Hello on Friday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Friday Discussion - How do you know when you have reached a good stopping point in your story or chapter?  Do you plan the end ahead of time or just recognize it when it comes?

I wrote yesterday -- a significant amount for a change! -- and posted it after editing. It was a chapter of my longest-running WIP, which hadn't been worked on since February (ugh!). I was actually surprised at how easy it was to get back into it and finish up the chapter. I plan on continuing and work on the next chapter while the iron is hot, so to speak!

In my outline, I had planned for the chapter to be longer, but as I wrote, I realized the ending of the chapter came sooner than expected. I usually plan what I will include in a chapter, but when I actually write it, I end up with a different ending (then I just transfer the remaining "action" to the next chapter). I tend to be able to "feel" when it should end, even though I might have planned something different!
