Discussion: I've already written that. Do you find that you get ideas for fics only to find that you've already written it?

No writing at all today for me, I'm still laid low with an ear infection. Hopefully I can get some words down tomorrow.

This has been happening quite a bit recently especially with getting back into Taggart because most of what gives me "ooh fic for..." I've already written for it.

I've this happen a couple of times, where I had a marvelous idea, and then in the course of writing it up, I realized I had totally already written it. It's usually happened after I left off writing a fic for awhile and then tried taking it up again.

I find it happens when I come back to a fandom after taking a break from it.
