All right--we are halfway through the week!!!
Tell us how your day has gone, writing wise:
Awesome!
Pretty good.
On schedule.
Okay.
Like crap.
I took the day off.
Discussion questions:
When do you write best? Late at night, early in the morning, or sometime in between?
Where do you like to write?
Do you like it quiet or do you like to be around people, like at Starbucks? Or do you listen to music when you write?
What's your average words per day/words per week?

Date: Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 19:14 (UTC)BUT! I took advantage of my lunch break today and got 928 words down \O/ So happy. I think I going to try and take at least 20 min at lunch break to write, from now on. That way, even if I don't have the time in the evening, I won't feel so angry with myself ;p

Date: Thursday, May 19th, 2011 05:17 (UTC)Yep, I was pretty surprised when I saw the total. I use Q10 to write, so it doesn't show the pages and the amount of writing already done. I found it very useful, as that way I'm not checking my progress every five minutes ^^ I hope I'll do it again today \O/ ;p

Date: Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 20:32 (UTC)I usually end up writing in the early to mid evening, but I'm a morning person generally. Not enough to get up early to write before work, though!
I like to have music on, usually just iTunes on shuffle, but sometimes I'll try & find music that walks that line between being too familiar/too distracting & being appropriate/inspirational for the fic.
Average daily wordcount is probably about 700--I don't always write fic for my 750 Words, but then on days when I do sometimes I write more, so it probably evens out.

Date: Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 20:36 (UTC)I'm finding that sitting down after work to churn out a few thousand words, letting my Inner Editor frown rhinocerously at them overnight, and then writing down its suggested edits the next morning before work is a good plan if I can make the time. (The edits usually fix a scene that just wasn't working the night before, and often add a hundred or so words as well.)
Proof of the pudding: I wrote over 3600 words last night, and 400+ more this morning. :D

Date: Thursday, May 19th, 2011 00:22 (UTC)I finished and posted my fic, so I am on track with my challenge. AND I have started and am almost finished with next week's fic. It's just a rough draft, but I'll be able to finish it by the weekend, I'm sure, it's pretty short.
I write best whenever, except too late at night since I am not a night owl. I started getting up early again this week to write, so that has been nice. In the mornings I go in the living room and in the evening when my family is home I usually write in my room, but I do leave the door open. Their TV watching doesn't usually bother me as it's nothing I'm interested in--otherwise I'd be out there watching with them. ;P
Music is harder, especially, as others have said, if it has words. But classical is okay if it's an album or soundtrack and not on the radio station as part of programming. I don't mind people too much, but it also depends on who it is.
Average words per week is probably 2000-2500.

Date: Thursday, May 19th, 2011 03:21 (UTC)I couldn't focus on the fic (though I expanded my outline notes so that I know what I need to have the characters do in order to get the plot going. )
My best writing is after dinner. Since I don't watch much live TV (or, TV in general, really), I tend to sit down and tussle with my fics anywhere from one to two and a half hours depending on what I'm working on, if there's a hard deadline, etc. I wouldn't think of writing in a crowded place (Starbucks, library, wherever there are people talking and moving around me.) Music is OK--though usually not necessary.
Average words per week work out to 2k to 3k.
