Discussion: daunting projects. Some of us have that one writing project that scares us and we put it off for as long as possible. What writing projects are too daunting for you to attempt?

My daunting project is a shipper essay for a 12 year stretch of Taggart canon, which is a show that aired for almost 30 years and even with having all the episodes and documentarys on DVD, it's finding the time to sit down and make notes, screencaps and organise it all. I suspect that the only way I'll ever get it done is to gently prod at it until it's completed.

I have a multi-chapter fic that has been stalled for a couple of years at a cliff-hanger, where a battle is about to take place. I have attempted to forge ahead several times, but I have yet to figure out how to write the battle. I have written battles before, but this one is stopping me. I want to get past it, because the story is worth finishing (and I have ideas, plans and half-written chapters ready for the later part of the story) -- but I'm currently stuck.
