Discussion: editing. How long do you spend editing your fic?

I'm avoiding all of the mainstream media today and waking up to that news was not nice.

For editing it all comes down to the length of the fic and it's usually an hour or so on something very short (less than 1k) several hours on longer pieces (over 1k) and anything up to a week for chapter fics because I like to re-read everything that I have before I edit the newest chapter.

Another day of writing. That makes nine straight days. Another kink meme fill, but this one was not a dinosaur like the one I posted yesterday. Still feel pretty good about it.

I never spend long enough editing my stories. There's always one missing word, or something stupid like that, even when I'm sure it's perfect. :-| The universe likes to spite me on that, I swear.

I have edited my fics and planned out my next fics.

Editing never ends to me. :( Sometimes I reread my fics, struck by how horrible they are, and hours are lost to fix them, until the next time I reread them, and the cycle repeats again.
