Discussion: finishing older fics. Do you ever look through your fics (notes, docs etc) to see if you have any that are unfinished? Do you post them? Do you delete them? Something else?

I sometimes look through my notebooks and USB to see what is lingering. Sometimes I will finish something off and post it, others I delete. Occasionally I'll give away a stripped (no fandom/rating/character identifiers) version of the notes/outline for others to use as they want to.

Tempting as it is to delete something just because I feel like I'll never finish it, I choose not to delete. I don't know, maybe it's because I worry I'll have some flash of inspiration and remember that old, unfinished story and have the motivation to complete it, only to find I got rid of it. Sometimes I become inspired again by rereading an unfinished work.

I have not ever deleted anything unfinished. I have several WIPs that have been unfinished for a long time, but I do intend to eventually finish them. I fiddle with them from time to time, and make a small amount of progress. There are a couple that stalled in the planning phase, and I am saving those for the ideas, if not for the actual story. There is one I have considered deleting, as I have never been able to drum up a good plot to fit the prompt, but haven't quite pulled the plug yet.
