Date: Thursday, December 15th, 2016 23:29 (UTC)The chapter of Let Me Fade that I've been editing forever (it feels like it) involves premature labour and childbirth, all offscreen/fade to black and the information I have for that came from a relative who doesn't speak to any of us now. I'm having to look on various NHS Scotland and UK wide baby charity websites to double check everything they told me two years ago and is included in the fic.
Research varies with each fic, some need a lot of things and some only need a canon review. I could spend more than half of my writing time doing research and that's a trap I try not to fall into if I can help it.

I also use research to confirm whether my ideas are actually viable within canon, so some of my research is canon research, in addition to real life situation research. I love doing research, so I easily get sidetracked from writing!
