Date: Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 01:17 (UTC)Today's question is one I keep asking myself, but I can never find a definitive answer. I enjoy writing for prompts and requests, and that means I enjoy writing for others, but I also enjoy writing for myself ... or do I? Never completely certain about that. Knowing what people want to read is very helpful in deciding what to write, and I remember many occasions where I came up with a lot of stuff in support of an idea that I thought was pretty clever or unique, only to have no response at all. :-| Prompts and requests are much safer writing, even if part of me knows there are times when you must take chances.

Date: Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 13:50 (UTC)In the beginning I definitely wrote for myself, telling the stories that I wanted to be told. I still do that, but I also write for others now, when I do prompts and exchanges. I have also accepted suggestions from readers, as long as those suggestions fit within my own likes and dislikes.
