Check-In – Day 22

January certainly is leaving us in a hurry, but there is still time left to write. How has that been going for you today? What have you been doing?

Question for today: Are you a single-fandom writer, or do you write for multiple fandoms? Or do you strictly stick to originals?

I finished two fics, and revised my two old one today.

I usually stick to a fandom at a time, as I don't have enough space in my heart for more at the same time. If I move on from one fandom to another, I usually will stay away from the old one until the old love rekindles.

I was mostly distracted by football today, but I was able to scribble some fairly decent paragraphs for a final chapter of a WIP I'm trying to finish. Getting ready to type it up and see if it still seems decent.

I am almost exclusively a single-fandom writer, except for one single fic that is from a totally different fandom. That fic is the one I am finishing up, and then I'll be back to a single fandom. I do have some story ideas that I sometimes take notes for in other fandoms, but I'm not seriously considering writing in them. My main fandom still has endless stories to tell, so I should be fine sticking with that one!

I posted my second finished story for this month. I directly began a new one. I am super motivated since I have had received already two wonderful comments about my posted story that I am convinced I can be a somewhat established writer for this small fandom when I just keep writing and having ideas.

Usually I just write for the fandom I am currently the most into but there are always two returning fandoms where I can always come up with something. I was never really a fan for writing for just one fandom simply because I love too many fandoms.
But when I writer for something older I have to be again in love with it, otherwise it won't work out pretty well :/

Every now and than I also try to write original stories. I know I can write good original stories but part of me always sees myself purely as the fanfiction writer (who ends up researching the tiniest details when I write a historical fanfic)

Wrote while I had insomnia this morning but haven't been able to clear my head enough to write since then.


Just this month I have branched out from my single fandom to a new one! It is exciting!
