Checking in on Day 31

I only had three days of check in posts to do this month, and I totally missed one of them!  Sorry, sorry.

Please share all your awesome word counts from yesterday and today, as well as anything else related to your writing -- how it went (or didn't), whether you met a goal for this month (or didn't), how you are encouraged by what you have done this month (or how you are discouraged).

The question for the day which you can discuss if you are so inclined is:

How do you really feel about having a deadline set on your writing?  Does it help or actually hinder you?

I wrote 700 words last night -- could have written more if I'd started earlier, but I don't want to ruin my accomplishment by looking at what I DIDN'T accomplish. ;-) I also finished posting past-finished stories in communities where they can be read by people, instead of just keeping them on my computer.

Concerning deadlines, I am finding that for the most part, they help me. I seem to do better when I have a date involved -- even though I very often wait until the last minute to work on stuff. Often the pressure brings greater inspiration.

However, it's really not fun having too many deadlines at once, like is happening to me now. I had a major freak out session last night when I realized how truly frightening the month of June is, with all the Real Life writing and fic-writing deadlines I have facing me. There must be NO procrastinating henceforth -- I mean it! ;-)
