Hello on Sunday! Today is the first day of a new writing week in our WIP Challenge. What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Sunday, April 9th, 2017 14:37 (UTC)I am currently trying to get back into a WIP that has been ignored for a few months. It can be difficult to get back into writing a lengthy WIP once I lose track of where I was going; the longer I take to push forward, the more unwieldy it becomes! To get back on track, I usually reread the last couple of chapters I wrote and then work on my outline to be sure I have a good plan. The outline is already worked up and has a lot of good detail, but I tweak it a bit, and make myself read through every part of it to make sure I have the order of possible events in my WIP laid out properly and have a feel for which characters will be featured. This usually gets me back on track. The hardest part of any writing for me is the opening paragraph, but once I get my mind on track and get the first words down, I'm usually off to the races.
