Discussion: playlists. Do you create playlists for your fic? Do you find music distracting?

I wrote. On the one hand I'm happy with the progress, on the other I fear this passage is going to need a lot of editing. But for now, I need to remind myself to focus on writing and not to worry about editing.

I usually prefer not to listen to anything at all, but when there's annoying background noise, I use music as the less annoying option. Usually I just pick something that I find least distracting, or grab an album that vaguely fits the mood. I can't be bothered to create playlists, usually. However, I did it for the last fic I wrote and I even posted it as a fanmix. It was extremely fun and I love listening to the playlist now and evoke that mood again I had during writing, but that was a special occasion where the situation in the fic and the music mentioned in it, the character's canon taste in music, my taste in music, and extremely fitting song lyrics all aligned so very well.
