Hello on Thursday! What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Thursday, June 8th, 2017 13:32 (UTC)I usually feel pretty happy with my old stories -- I actually make a practice of going back and rereading stuff to remind myself that yes, I am capable of writing well. Of course, I often find something that needs fixing (usually grammar), so I will tweak the story if it's not a drastic change.

Date: Thursday, June 8th, 2017 20:14 (UTC)I often reread old fics. First of all, I'm mostly in tiny fandoms where there's not much else to read. Second, I usually write things that are exactly to my taste. ;) Third, I find it interesting to compare how a fic feels after I got a greater distance from it to how it felt while I was working on it. Rereading a fic I haven't looked at in a while is the closest I can get to looking at it from an outsider's perspective.
I'm usually still quite happy with my old fics and they are a good reminder that no matter how bad I feel during the writing process, I'm usually able to turn it into something decent.

Date: Friday, June 9th, 2017 00:43 (UTC)I do reread my old stories. Some stories make me feel happy but majority just go into the cringe worthy category. But I don't necessarily get discouraged though. It was an idea that I loved writing so I'm happy that I wrote the fic for myself regardless how cringe-worthy it may feel in another few years
