Eat chili, write fiction. Simple formula. What have you been doing today?
— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Planning and / or researching.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.
Question: Has a review or comment ever gotten you to make a story much bigger than you originally planned it to be?

Date: Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 00:15 (UTC)I have had several reviews/comments that suggest I should continue a story when it was meant to be a one shot; I am considering whether or not to actually continue in one case. In another situation, a reviewer disagreed with how things were turning out, suggesting it was against character -- and after considering her point, I agreed, so the story got bigger in that I had to figure out how to get to where I wanted to go but from a different direction. It actually turned out to be better in the long run, so I'm glad that reviewer was honest and willing to share her thoughts with me.
