WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 1 -- Monday

Hello on the first Monday of 2018 -- what a great day to do some writing!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Monday Discussion - Today is the first day of the new year.  Have you made any resolutions/goals or expressed any intentions about your writing?

No writing has happened as yet, as I'm getting a late start on the day, but I do intend to spend time today in writerly pursuits.

I have joined getyourwordsout for another year to help me write more consistently. I plan to track time spent in writing rather than word count, as I think this will work better for me. My general goal for the year is to be more disciplined, so writing should definitely benefit as I include time for it in my schedule.

I am writing- slowly but surely at this time.

I also joined getyourwordsout, but with a word count goal. I doubt I can build any consistency into my life right now, but I did want to have a goal to strive towards.

I also have joined getyourwordsout but this time with a higher pledg than last year.
My first day of the year is already aaround 18 hours old xD I've written a lot today. And even finished and uploaded a OneShot. Not bad. I've got the idea on December 30 and began to write it yesterday (but only around 200 words of it).

Feels a bit weird to start the new year with publishing somthing but it feels great to have ideas that I can publish and where I know people will read it.

I'm working till 6:30 today but am aiming to get something written when I get home. At the moment my plan is to get a decent buffer of new material for Let Me Fade and bring it off hiatus, use my remaining summer mini challenge prompts and try not to get burned out by fandom. I have a sneaking feeling that last year slump was down to burn out.

I'm doing inkingitout again with a goal of 75000 words over the year. I've been doing this challenge since 2014 and it has helped me to be more focused on writing in general.

I watched YouTube vids of raccoons for fic plotting purposes. Also scribbled 200 words for said raccoon!fic.

In break with tradition (and this thread), I opted to not join GYWO this year. Given that I crashed and burned when it came to keeping up with that challenge, I thought it'd be better if I avoided it. /o\

Plan to scribble more today, don't know which fic -- more than one? Regardless, going out tonight to share some creative (non-fanfic) efforts with a group of fellow creators. Hope it's received well, and that it's not too soon and I don't relapse into sickness (or make anyone else sick, with my germs or my words).

Since I've been doing mostly shorts, I intend to try writing more long fics this year (where "long" = 10k+ words).
