Discussion: How often do you review canon? Is it to fact check something for a scene? Is it to refresh your knowledge of the characters?

I've almost finished editing my fic but I had to stop to do birthday things.

I tend to canon review as and when I need it, sometimes it is purely to fact check a name or a event and sometimes I need to refresh my knowledge especially if it's been a while since I played in a particular fandom.

I haven't been writing, so I guess I better get back on track and try to work on something before the day ends. As for canon, I do review fairly often -- mostly to check my facts or the timeline. Sometimes, if I'm working with a character I don't write often, I'll do some character review.
