Anyone have any lost word horror stories they'd like to share?

Date: Friday, July 15th, 2011 03:44 (UTC)I do have a horror story about lost words. I lost a major essay in college, because instead of closing the window I was pasting the parts I cut from the essay in, I closed the actual essay without saving. D: Fortunately, my professor let me hand it in the next day. Thank goodness!
P.S. You need to put a closing quote on the URL for the macro in your post.

Date: Friday, July 15th, 2011 12:07 (UTC)But I switch to a different original WIP this weekend and my challenge fic is off to the beta reader's for a second pair of eyes and a smack on the head if needed, giving my subconscious some time to process/decide what needs to happen next.
No major lost word horror stories--just last week I lost the whole first chapter of my challenge fic, but I have it in hard copy, so it's just a matter of typing it all back in. I lost a really wonderfully descriptive love scene last year that depressed me for days. I was never able to duplicate it and the fic was definitely the poorer for it. But really nothing else big that I can recall.
