Hello on Wednesday! What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion: It's easy to get down on ourselves for procrastinating when we think we should be writing; sometimes we actually need a break from what we are doing and what we call procrastinating is actually kind of like taking a vacation! Do you ever feel like procrastinating is a worthwhile pursuit? When it's not a good thing, how do you get yourself to stop doing it and start writing?

Date: Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 19:55 (UTC)As for procrastination, I've noticed that if I'm doing the internet procrastination thing--i.e. sitting in front of the laptop, with my word document or WrittenKitten open, and then doing ANYTHING BUT WRITING--it's a sign that something else is wrong and I need to fix it in order to fix my focus. Usually it's a question of "when did I last eat? am I tired? do I need coffee? Have I been reading too much upsetting stuff elsewhere?" and then I can get food, coffee, a nap, or read something fluffy and see if that helps. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has noticed the same thing!
