Question: I am noticing several new faces here as of late, so, whether you are one of them or not, how long have you been here at writethisfanfic, and what brought you here? (I, for one, honestly don't remember how I was originally linked to this place, but I've been here a good while, at least three or four years.)

Been doing some planning as well as some writing! Getting a strong start on my word count for the year :D

I am a new face! I've been here uhhh...maybe a couple months? Maybe less than that. I joined DW for a more in-depth/thoughtful fandom experience, and to join writing/content creating communities that were more thoughtful.

Been loving these daily check-ins; they help me to take stock of how often I'm putting work into what I'm doing, and how often I'm just "thinking about it." <3

Today I have done some writing. I was hoping to finish this draft, but I did get a fair amount done (my cold is still pretty intense so decreased brain power isn't a surprise).

I just checked back on my journal tags. I originally joined writethisfanfic in 2012 when the Great LJ Migration took place. Before then I was a regular at gsd_rtfn and found the regular check ins very helpful. Not long after, I changed careers, moved around, had no internet ... I only just logged back into DW around the end of November 2018 when I broke my foot and was out of work for a while. It's a lot more active here now than when I first joined, and I have definitely found the daily posts extremely helpful.

Wrote the prologue to my big WIP, and liked it enough that it's going straight into the list of saved chapters rather than hanging around for editing! (I usually write out of order, so I have later chapters finished but hadn't decided whether I wanted a prologue or not.)

I'm a brand-new face here! I've only been on DW for a month or so--left Tumblr for everything except RP content--and I think I found this community when it was promo'd somewhere right after I arrived, but I don't actually remember where. These daily check-ins have been great for prompting me to pay attention to what I write and how much--or little--I'm actually doing.

I got in a little over 600 words which is my daily goal for 2019. I figured it would be bad if I didn't start the year by at least making an attempt in my writing goals. Unfortunately it was for a brand new fic instead of one of the many WIPs I have to finish.

I only joined DW a few weeks ago, I can't quite remember how I found this comm. I was looking around for writing comms and stumbled upon here somehow.

No writing for me today - the exchange I was writing for went live today, so I've been reading instead! I'm also about to sign up for another exchange (chocolateboxcomm) and have been contemplating my requests/offers.

I'm also a new face - old to DW, but new to the comm. I found it via a recs post! I like that it's a low-pressure check-in rather than a competitive wordcount race or mandatory update. It's a good reminder to write (or at least think about writing) without feeling like I *have* to do it or else.

I did some writing prep work, but didn't actually write, as I was pretty much under the weather today. I have the rest of the week off, though, so I still have time to recover my health AND get some writing in before it's back to work.

I checked back and I seem to have started posting in the comm early in 2012, and I've been here ever since. I'm not sure how I found this place, but it may have been recommended by someone and since it was just the kind of encouragement I needed to make writing my fic more of a habit, I got involved. I've found it very helpful and friendly here, and it does help me to keep writing in mind daily because I know I am going to be checking in here where people will want to know how it's going!

Hmmn, at least 5 years? I do not remember what brought me here, except the fact that I am attempting to write daily.

New face here! I think I followed a bunch of fandom-related communities at once, so I don't particularly remember how I found this one. But I've been here for less than a month.
I finished proofreading someone else's work today. No time to work on my own stuff, but I now know who to give a gift to.

Posted on the last day of last year, and today the first day of the new has been full of progress on my new favorite WIP. It was 95% outlined and I'd started to write it; now it's written up to scene 4 out of 8 planned, and I've been filling in the remaining gaps in the outline to give this smut a bit of actual story.

It doesn't feel like I've been here all that long, though it's been at least a year. I also don't remember how I found the community, but I'd guess it was by searching DW for related interests. It's been a great low-pressure way for me to stay more engaged and feel just a bit more motivated.

Wrote a couple of paragraphs and rewatched a couple of episodes of the show I'm writing fic for, which I count as planning or research of a sort.

I'm a newbie here, created an account when the tumblr fuckery went down, so I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. I think I found it when I was searching for writing communities, I joined like 3 of them and this one is the most active.

Brand new face here, I've been lurking on the comm since I found it some months back in 2018 through someone on my reading page.

I've been mostly planning out some new fics and researching things, haven't actually done much writing yet or posted anything new yet this year.

Been lurking for a while since I found the comm while looking for more things to fill out my really sparse Reading page. Too many old friends have abandoned LJ & DW.. :-( Finally started writing (or poking at) fanfic again :-)

New face here! Found a link from fandomcalendar I think. I have mostly been brainstorming with myself about the plot of a new fic and got the outline mostly done.
