Hello, writers! What have you been able to accomplish today toward your January goal?
— I wrote today!
— I planned and/or researched something.
— I sat down and did some editing.
— I sent things to my beta.
— I posted!
— I focused on something else today.
Writing question time: What kind of research do you do, if any, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a new story? If you’re not into research, please share some of your process on creating those details in your stories (are you a Stephen King Let It Spin type?).

Date: Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 01:32 (UTC)If it's canons and source material that I don't know, then I spend a good few minutes (or more) doing research on it and try to find enough materials to read or watch in order to get a feel of the characterization of those characters. If its canons that I know pretty decently well, then its fly by the seat of your pants and just start writing things without reconsulting the source material unless something new has been added to it.
