Tuesday Discussion: Do you listen to music for writing inspiration? What is your favorite music for writing inspiration?

Thinking of writing. Will write after I get back from errands.

When I'm wrangling words, almost any music will do as long as it's instrumental. At most it should be like the Xena soundtrack where the voices just ululate without actual lyrics. Maximum mood setting, minimal distraction.

Thinking of writing, whether or not I actually do it is a wait and see game.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no depending on my mood. Mostly listen to soundtracks or instrumental pieces to help the writing along.

Due to my Tuesday schedule, I don't have scheduled writing time today. But I got home early, so maybe I'll still get some writing in!

I recently realized that I have not been listening to music while I write, like I used to. Maybe having a scheduled time helps enough that I don't need the music as much. It is helpful to listen to music when I'm actually composing words, but it has to be music without voices or lyrics. My favorite music for inspiration is instrumental/Celtic.

Music is big for me. I love to play a song or a short playlist to set the mood. I have songs that I associate with certain characters or scenarios and I'll jam out to them before a writing session.

I didn't get much done in the end, but I did get a few more paragraphs down, which is better than none.

I spent most of my normal writing time paying bills today, and my brain has had it for the day. X_X Will try again tomorrow.

I normally listen to one of a big batch of video game soundtracks, but I like a wide variety of music for writing. It depends entirely on what kind of story is in the hopper.

I wrote 191 words today to fill in a hole in a scene. Getting close to finishing my goal for the month!

I pretty much have to be listening to something always. Right now I'm doing a lot of soundscapes and binaural beats for writing. Atmospheric soundscapes are really helping me work to a certain mood right now.
