The boulder is at the top of the hill. Time to give it a push and start it rolling. ... What have you been doing?
— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Planning and / or researching.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.
Question: Of all the stories you have completed, what percentage would you say has made it to posting (e.g. AO3, Dreamwidth, etc.)?

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 01:47 (UTC)I asked the question above because there are times when I write a story just to get an idea or whatever out of my system. Those, I don't publicly post. (I usually have them set to private on my journal here.) I'd say about 80% of stories do get posted. The other 20% are just for me.

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 01:58 (UTC)I had two deadlines this month and met them both. My next deadline is Valentine's Day. I try not to overdo it, because I HATE not finishing stories -- even if no part of it has been posted online! Fanfiction is my preferred method of declaration ...

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 02:09 (UTC)I post everything once I finish it (I held onto one for a year hoping to find a beta and eventually just posted it anyway, these days I don't bother holding onto it unless someone's agreed ahead of time to beta). It's the finishing part that's tricky, lol.

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 02:41 (UTC)I think 90% or better gets posted. I like to do those drabble/writing memes on my journal and those answers usually stayed locked to my circle for funsies. I have used some of them to build larger piece later on, but the Gratuitous Self-Insert meme will forever stay under lock haha.

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 11:30 (UTC)I have posted all my finished stories, in one place or another, but not all of them have made it to AO3 yet. Maybe... 50%? I'm not even sure that I'll archive my oldest fandoms there, or just let them live in obscurity. ;)

Date: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 14:00 (UTC)Wow...that's a hard one. I've been writing fic since before I had a place to post it. Not counting my pre-internet period of writing, I think close to 100% - if I finish a story, whether I'm totally satisfied with it or not, I post it.
