[personal profile] samuraiter posting in [community profile] writethisfanfic
The boulder is at the top of the hill. Time to give it a push and start it rolling. ... What have you been doing?

— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Planning and / or researching.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.

Question: Of all the stories you have completed, what percentage would you say has made it to posting (e.g. AO3, Dreamwidth, etc.)?

I've finished nine stories and all nine are posted on AO3. One WIP is being posted as I go. So 100% of what has been finished is posted.

I will work on writing tonight. I want to get more of the first draft done so I can edit on the weekend.

Still trying to decide which WIP to tackle next. And then as usual, I have to go and have another new idea, which means creating a new WIP from scratch. But hey, Dragon Maid. Whatcha gonna do?

I post everything I manage to finish, so 100%.

Seems to be how it's done! Many little snippets pinned to my virtual cork board. Yeah for you at 100% too.

I'm working on my first multi-chap in years ... it almost seems like a jinx to even admit it, LOL. But I'm excited about it, and hope the excitement proves to be sufficient fuel for the endeavor.

I had two deadlines this month and met them both. My next deadline is Valentine's Day. I try not to overdo it, because I HATE not finishing stories -- even if no part of it has been posted online! Fanfiction is my preferred method of declaration ...

I've been dealing with getting sick (cold this morning, now a low-grade fever). Any thoughts of writing are definitely on hold, even if I didn't have other projects that demand my attention first. :/

I post everything once I finish it (I held onto one for a year hoping to find a beta and eventually just posted it anyway, these days I don't bother holding onto it unless someone's agreed ahead of time to beta). It's the finishing part that's tricky, lol.

I got the beta notes back for my [community profile] chocolateboxcomm fic and hope to polish off the edits tonight before bed (needs more FLUFF). I added more notes to my outlines for two WIPs over my lunch break. Confusingly they're both one chapter posted and mid-chapter two at the moment. I plan to get one off to beta this weekend and then finish the other next week. That's the plan at least. xD

I think 90% or better gets posted. I like to do those drabble/writing memes on my journal and those answers usually stayed locked to my circle for funsies. I have used some of them to build larger piece later on, but the Gratuitous Self-Insert meme will forever stay under lock haha.

Nope, I ended up receiving a fic from a buddy to edit for them. Just like old times where I edit, edit, edit and not as much writing. xD I need to better budget these things if I want to finish any of my own works.

Thought about writing fanfic, but mostly did more jobs today instead.

Since I posted my last fanfic, I've actually not even had an idea of what to write next. But. Last night, while trying and failing to sleep, I finally got a visit from an idea! So, now I'm in the planning/outline stage! :D I find it exciting, because this is the stage where there are so many possibilities.

I have posted all my finished stories, in one place or another, but not all of them have made it to AO3 yet. Maybe... 50%? I'm not even sure that I'll archive my oldest fandoms there, or just let them live in obscurity. ;)

Editing a chapter!

Wow...that's a hard one. I've been writing fic since before I had a place to post it. Not counting my pre-internet period of writing, I think close to 100% - if I finish a story, whether I'm totally satisfied with it or not, I post it.
