Question: Now that the month is over and done, how do you feel about your January output?

I've written probably half to three-quarters of the next chapter of a WIP, and am going to bribe myself with cheesecake bites to finish it tonight! It's action, which I'm always a little iffy about my ability to write, but so far it's gone pretty well and I like what I have so far. I've also started plotting out a fic for a shiny new Transformers continuity, which might end up being co-written with a friend, but I'll need to rewatch at least a few episodes from the series before I feel confident trying to write it (since it would be "missing episode"-style and my ability to handle the tone of RiD2015 is...questionable.)

My January output, in comparison to what I've written for the last few years, has been AMAZING. I haven't written this much since high school. While I'm still not quite back to my "putting out a new chapter of a major WIP at least once a week" standards from back then, I've written and posted multiple short things, explored some characters I never thought I'd be able to write, and generally gotten a heck of a confidence boost just from regularly posting things that people have liked. Compared to last year, where some weeks I'd only manage a few four-line RP posts and not much else, I'm really happy with it.

Yet again unexpectedly worked on something I had put out of my mind. In this case, a Dexter/Buffy crossover. Not only did I actually write, I figured out more of the actual story and outline.

My wordcount for January isn't fabulous, but it's a moderately respectable just under 47k. Quality-wise I'm quite pleased -- two alternate sequels to my own work, an unprompted next installment in a Femslash Kink-inspired series, a wacky Xena idea that came out of nowhere recently, and then the two I'm most proud of: A Xena story that I hadn't worked on for nineteen years, and my first ever Dragon Maid story that apart from wishing it was a little longer, I'm extremely happy with.

Did some writing and posting today while other stuffing aka job hunting shenanigans.

I feel like my January output was alright, probably could have been better. But overall I think its alright.

No writing today, hopefully I can get some notes types this weekend. Overall my January output was VERY GOOD.

Writing and editing today! Very exciting. I'm trying to jiggle around some POV issues with a WIP, because my brain likes to trail off on tangents that don't actually make sense in a consistent narrative. Good try though, brain.

I didn't write the majority of days in January, but the days I did write I had a solid word count so I hope I can keep that momentum moving forward.

Validated. January represents a pretty good beginning of the resurrection of my writing life. I've already got something else to post tomorrow. Everything seems to be falling into place!

I've been taking a few breaks lately, or working on planning or research rather than actual writing words. Last month was the best writing month I've had in years, to be honest. I set a goal of writing at a certain time 5 days a week, and I stuck to it, which helped me surpass my monthly goal of writing at least 0 days in the month, as well as producing two new chapters for a WIP that had been stalled for more than a year.
