Ignore that clicking sound. That's just me winding the day counter back to the beginning. What have you been doing?

Question: Now that the month is over and done, how do you feel about your January output?

Date: Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 00:55 (UTC)I missed several days, so I am going to answer several of my questions at once. [1] Editing hovers around a 5 on the scale of pain for me, but reformatting shoots that up to 10 (... which is why I stopped posting anything to FFN, thanks to its tendency to randomly destroy formatting for no reason). [2] Morning used to be prime time for me, but my best time has switched to the period immediately after dinner, when I am winding down my day. [3] It has taken me a long time to accept it, but there are stories I started ages ago that I am no longer capable of finishing. I mean, I'm not the same writer I was then, so ... I'm willing to let it go, provided I post what I have finished with a clear note showing that what there is ... is all there is.
For today's question: I was only 400 words shy of my goal of 10,000 for the month. Not perfect ... but good enough. I've got to be mindful and pace myself in February.

Date: Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 01:03 (UTC)My January output, in comparison to what I've written for the last few years, has been AMAZING. I haven't written this much since high school. While I'm still not quite back to my "putting out a new chapter of a major WIP at least once a week" standards from back then, I've written and posted multiple short things, explored some characters I never thought I'd be able to write, and generally gotten a heck of a confidence boost just from regularly posting things that people have liked. Compared to last year, where some weeks I'd only manage a few four-line RP posts and not much else, I'm really happy with it.

Date: Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 01:04 (UTC)My wordcount for January isn't fabulous, but it's a moderately respectable just under 47k. Quality-wise I'm quite pleased -- two alternate sequels to my own work, an unprompted next installment in a Femslash Kink-inspired series, a wacky Xena idea that came out of nowhere recently, and then the two I'm most proud of: A Xena story that I hadn't worked on for nineteen years, and my first ever Dragon Maid story that apart from wishing it was a little longer, I'm extremely happy with.

Date: Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 01:09 (UTC)I didn't write the majority of days in January, but the days I did write I had a solid word count so I hope I can keep that momentum moving forward.
