Hello on Tuesday! What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
Tuesday Discussion: Do you keep track of your writing by the amount of time spent writing per day, or by word count?

Date: Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 15:19 (UTC)I keep track of my writing mainly through time spent, keeping track of the number of days in a month that I write. When I have an actual word count as a result of writing, I do record that, but it is not my main way of judging how much writing I am doing.

Date: Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 01:04 (UTC)I track purely by word count. If I tried looking at time spent writing (or sitting at the computer pondering writing), I'd just be depressed. Heh.

Date: Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 06:21 (UTC)When I'm doing creative writing (fanfic, yay), it's always word count. I don't record it anywhere (unless one of these posts asks and I happened to remember what I wrote the night before), but I do tell friends or report progress if I'm in a live chat somewhere. Word wars are particularly fun - I miss when the IRC #yuletide channel had them. (Now everyone's gone to Discord - which I hate the emojis on and I can't turn them off anywhere, so I don't go there. But there's a few of us holdouts on IRC and we'll welcome anyone at any time of year who just wants to write and talk about writing.)

Date: Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 08:32 (UTC)I've switched from wordcount to time spent writing because I find it more effective when I'm editing and rewriting, but I'm always keeping an eye on the wordcount.
