Question: What is the word count for the longest story you have ever done, and is it one of your favorite stories?

I have been writing and posting!

My longest word count is about 42k, and I got some not-so-nice comments on it *and* it is for a pairing I don't like anymore, so it is probably my least favorite story.

Got a few hundred words written today, but I'll be back to working on fic projects more fully next week.

I got back from vacation late last night, spent most of today unpacking/doing laundry/dealing with things that piled up while I was gone. I did get a little bit of editing done on one fic, and I hope to finish typing up what I wrote by hand while I was gone.

I have two unfinished fics sitting at around 20k, but I never posted either of them. They're both very self-indulgent, and for a fandom that underwent a lot of drama, so I have mixed feelings about them.

I've been doing everything *but* writing these last couple of days - but I did get some writing done Sunday or Monday evening and I'm hopeful of working some more on my assignment soon. Instead, besides work, I spent some time today learning complicated SQL queries to pull out fics from my database that had one ship but not another, or all fics with a certain ship that did *not* have a particular theme, etc. Very useful for the future (I can modify the pattern to fit just about any combo of criteria I want) and now I feel super geeky, lol.

My longest wordcount is 25k, and it is still one of my favorites, even if the fandom's so tiny I've gotten all of 54 hits, 4 kudos, 1 bookmark, and 0 comments (it was an Alphas fic and it probably doesn't help that I archive-locked it because I'm careful about what I post publicly in case some of my under-18 students run across my fics and figure out it was me - a remote possibility but I'm still careful). I also wrote it in three weeks, which is sort of insane for me, but I was on a *roll* and I had an alpha reader to chat at on IRC, which is the best possible thing. (Run into a snag? Chat with them right away, spark new ideas, get past snag, keep writing.) It also helped that I didn't have some of the major projects hanging over my head that have to be done quickly, so I could focus more on writing then than I've had the time for these days. :/

Longest story I have ever written at 99,026 words is I will see your nation cast down. It is not only one of my favorites but my pride and dare I say joy because I spent about 3 years writing it!

It's part of my AU Pepperony/MCU verse...

I actually wrote enough today to bring a specific story up to about 32K, which is the longest I've ever done! It's only a first draft, and I haven't posted it yet, but so far so good.

My longest fic is my current epic WIP, which stands at 136K as of last posting. I actually had no idea it was that many words -- and it's not done yet. It is totally and definitely one of my favorite stories still, and I feel dumb for not working on it more than I actually do, because it's fun to write and fun to reread.
