Good morning (in this hemisphere)! What have you been doing?
— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Outlining, planning, and / or prewriting.
— Researching and / or revisiting canon.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comments.
Question: How many finished stories have you left unposted, and what is the most common reason you do not post them?

Date: Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 21:50 (UTC)I always post a fic if I finish it - as soon as I can find a title and summary - I never go more than a day or two before making sure that's happened. So the only finished-but-unposted one is the one I just finished minutes ago, and need a title/summary first (which I'll be working on today).

Date: Thursday, September 26th, 2019 02:20 (UTC)I have a handful of short one-shots I never posted. Usually it's because I got done, looked them over, and felt like they just didn't meet a certain standard--sometimes the whole concept feels OOC after I finished, or I liked the idea but not the execution. With those, I rewrite from scratch and post a new version if it turns out better.

Date: Thursday, September 26th, 2019 13:02 (UTC)My problem is the opposite -- rather than having finished but unposted stories, I have posted several stories that are now stuck in various stages of being unfinished! I have not abandoned them, but I need to do better at waiting to post a tale until it is for sure going to be finished in a specific amount of time. y readers seem to be patient, but there are limits!
